Particles Plus instruments have a number of powerful particle counting features. Each instrument has its own internal pulse-height analyzer (PHA) to categorize particles as they arrive. Most other instruments use an external PHA device to make the actual measurement and then move these readings into the instruments memory during calibration which can introduce inaccuracies. Particles Plus’ internal onboard PHA improves accuracy and provides for further processing or discrimination of particles during normal operation.
Particles Plus instruments all have powerful FPGA chips as well as high-speed / high-resolution converters dedicated to processing particle pulse signals. The FPGA permits the instrument to implement an arbitrary number of channels and to process pulses extremely quickly, allowing the instrument to function in very high-concentration environments.
